Hello,
i am doing a 3d model on Osmosis and we can use anything from construction paper to …anything…
now i kno what Osmosis is…the movement of water molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
i kno the hypertonic, hypotonic and isotonic solutions
just need help how to make it….any adivce plz
thanks in advance - October 1, 2006 at 3:14 am #55729sporkiusParticipant
I know when I did it in my biology class we used some type of rubber but that was made for osmosis. I would check online. You might be able to find stuff at your local fish store. Just need to know what you ask for. Good luck and if you have any other questions ask away.

what will happen if a cell is placed in a hypertonic solution

what do you think will happen?

When a cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, the water diffuses out of the cell, causing the cell to shrivel
When a cell is placed in a hypotonic solution, the water diffuses into the cell, causing the cell to swell and possibly explode
When a cell is placed in an isotonic solution, the water diffuses into and out of the cell at the same rate. The fluid that surrounds the body cells is isotonic.
