Am I correct to say that a coconut palm, not a coconut tree? The reason is because of most monocots are called palm and most dicots are called tree. Technically am I right?

It really comes down to who you ask, and their level of education. Personally I’d say palm tree, because it’s more universally recognized, even though you’re technically correct.

Palm trees are from a family of plants called Arecaceae. Most of them are trees but some are also shrubs. The date palm and the coconut palm are trees. Technically they are flowering plants (angiosperms). Angiospers are plants whose seeds are encapsulated in a fruit of some sort. https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_tree
