Do you think that it is better for homo sapiens and other creatures to have creatures who practice altruism or not? Explain.

Directing everyone’s attention to a thread already started on this subject:
TRUE altruism is a negative effect for individuals and populations, as it increases the chances for the genes best adapted for survival to die due to an act of altruism.
In nature, true altruism does not exist. In humans…well…cynics will say that it does not exist here either.
If altruism is so negative then does that put an alutristic creature at a disadvantage. And who do you think is the most altruistic human being in history?
