Why is it important to know the hemoglobin % in blood?

Hemoglobin carry oxygen. With oxygen, people will turn blue and die.

Haemoglobin is the protein + non-protein found in your red blood cells. Its function is to bind oxygen. Oxygen is needed for the functioning of tissues in your body. Thus if you have a normal amount of Hb in your blood than that means that your body is getting enough oxygen… BUT if there is less Hb than there should be, then there is a problem because your body won’t be receiving enough oxygen to function properly (usually such people experience shortness of breath.. and most of the time they are said to be anaemic). Therefore it is important to know the percentage Hb in the blood!
