2 quick questions on centriole replication. They lack DNA but still replicate. Doesn’t this blow a hole in the argument that DNA is necessary for replication (meiosis/mitosis)?
Also, in the case centrioles are the exception that proves the rule that DNA is totally necessary for replication on the cellular level, have any studies been done to identify the mechanism(s) (and process) which enables centrioles to replicate without the use of DNA?
