How does a chameleon change its colour? I’ve already looked it up, but i didn’t fully understand the process…so don’t give the "let me goggle this for you" link!

So far as I understand it, cells of various color are both covered / uncovered and change shape from small cylinders to flattened discs to change the overall color of an area.
