Hello.
I use a petrolium ether 90 % 10 % acetone for the solvent.
I need Rf values for the pigments, xanophylls, chlorophylls and cartenoids.
Also the order in which they appear would be nice(if you don;t know Rfs).
I use spinach leaf for this.
Any help would be great, cuz i find alot of controversial stuff on the net.
Thx - April 17, 2006 at 7:40 am #46391abstemious_entityParticipant
Rf values differ under different conditions, thus you can’t find Rf tables. …maybe that was the controversy you were talking about…we did this in the laboratory using different amino acids and Coleus extract. i suggest you look up on the component of your spinach and take it from there…deduction and inference with strong research background 😉

Thanks for the links. My main problem is the order that that stuff apperas in starch:
is this correct:
chlorophyll b
chlorophyll a
xanthophyll
and carotene at the solvent front.
Cuz i had some other results from hits on the web, where xanthophylls are below chlorophylls.
