ParticipantHow long do diet shakes take with replacing 1 meal a day to start losing and noticing changes? If i was to replace 1 meal a day, say lunch, for a shake, how long would it take for me to lose weight? And also i want to go on a diet, im really good with exercise, i exercise everyday but im a very fussy eater therefor i don’t like much. How am i supposed to eat healthy then if i don’t like the diet foods advertisers tell you to eat?

Participant1/ Do not believe in advertisers anyway.
2/ Eat a balanced diet mostly composed of plant and vegetables.
3/ To lose weight remember that what you must have is (calories in)<(calories out) -

________________Hi, I’m new to the forum, but I would like to throw some things at you, that you should still research to satisfy yourself of its accuracy.
1) Most & I mean most diet shakes are loaded with sugar. Research the ingredients list. Sugar can be called other things.
2) This might make you really think. When we have cravings, who are we really feeding? Us or the bad or good bacteria’s in our eco – intestinal track? I mean, these guys, in eco-balance keep us alive & healthy.
So, if we crave bad food ie: sweets, breads, pastas etc., then we are feeding the bad guys. Yep, cravings are their way of letting you know that they are over populated and want food. Bad bacteria, in abundance = health issues.
And if we crave healthy foods, we feed an over population of good guys, which also can create health issues.
It’s never good to over do in any of the food groups. Cravings are a sign of one group over populating another group.
Eating bcos your hungry, is eating for your entire eco system. That’s why they say eat a balanced diet. Every one gets a little of what they need to keep you healthy, youthful & strong.I guarantee, once you start eating organic garlic, minced on a piece of buttered toast, sprinkled with sea salt (per day), by the end of the week, you will see that you will start reaching for the healthier foods in the supermarket & your fridge. That’s bcos the garlic killed off most of the bad guys & now the good guys want their good food! lolololol
Sounds yukkie, but it’s true….test it out for your self. -

ParticipantI tried replacing meal with fruit shakes, it was good for a while but it did not help in loosing weight. I suggest that if you really want to loose weight, eat healthy food. Eat in moderation as well and do exercise everyday.

ParticipantCheeMiss, so you’re saying, that when you eat something bad, only the bad bacteria feed and when you feed only good, only the good bacteria are fed? 😆

ParticipantDiets have two main problems – you don’t feel full after a diet meal, and you still crave junk.
Eat huge crunchy fibrous salads with loads of roots like turnip, swede and carrots (OK, I know carrots are stems, but you know what I man!) and especially dark greens, plus reds like beets and toms. You can put some dressing on, but only a tablespoon (about a hundred cals). Big crunchy salads fill you up, take ages to eat (so you don’t feel ‘that’s IT?!’, and are good for bowel health thanks to the fibre. Plus they have loads of vits etcetc.
They’ll give you the essential ‘I’m full and I’ve had a decent meal!’ feeling so you don’t feel deprived and short changed. That’s the ‘fullness’ issue sorted.
Then, to sort out the ‘cravings’ issue, treat yourself to a square of frozen chocolate (as dark as you can, to get all the good choco-chems out!). Freeze it first because it lasts longer in the mouth, so you get more ‘hit’ from it (!) but of course the calorie content is the same.
By the way, as you’ll know, none of us need to ‘lose weight’ – we need (some of us!)(OK, probably most of us, in this obese developed world…) to ‘lose FAT’.
Finally, exercise, exercise, exercise, and fat will convert to muscle that weighs more, but looks a whole lot better (ie, doesn’t wobble and flab…)
Good luck!
(PS – allow yourself treat days from time to time – non-stop deprivation leads to cracking!)

ParticipantShould just focus on eating to give your body nourishment.
With that as your focus to eating for the day, a nice side effect is gradually loosing unnecessary storage.
The new theory of toxins being surrounded in fat/adipose tissue because your body can not metabolize these new toxins and just safely stores them, is quite convincing. So all those with a few extra pounds and have been dieting by eating processed diet foods with all those preservatives and other man-made chemical toxins (fake fat and sugar), you won’t lose any weight no matter what calories are going in and going out. Get rid of the processed foods! And eat real food ( . . sigh . . which also may contain toxins as pesticides are so prevalent in today’s agriculture; so I advocate organic food).

ParticipantYou should eat according to the food pyramid, because when you eat food containing fats,it will be brocken down into faty acids and glycerol by the lipase enzyme,so the faty acids will be stored under the skin
