The Kirby-Bauer method, also known as the disk diffusion method, is routinely used for finding the MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration). The MBC is the smallest concentration at which the bacteria is killed.
The E-Test is used to find the MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration). The MIC is the point at which the clear zone touches the E-Test Strip. The MIC means the smallest concentration at which the bacteria’s growth is inhibited.
