How does DNA control the manufacture of all the biomacromolecules if its codes are only for proteins?
How are the Non proteic "biomacromolecules" synthesized in the cell? What is the nature of the agents allowing those reactions?
I think it’s an agent which named with the first letter "E" 😛
The way I see it, and this could be erroneous, is that DNA makes proteins. Some of those proteins are for the cell membrane – transport proteins and receptor proteins for hormones etc…
Other proteins are called enzymes which speed up, or slow down chemical reactions.
Enzymes catalyse pathways for the manufacture of other biomolecules, for example the manufacture of steroid hormones in the smooth endoplasmic reticulum.
