do any of our members know the definiton of FORMULA MASS?????

I’m not familiar with that term in English, but there’s a similar word in my language. Could it be the sum of all masses of all the elements that the chemical formula of a molecule is composed of? For example the formula mass of CO2 would be the mass of carbon plus 2x the mass of oxygen (look at your periodic system – mine says 12,01 + 2×16,00 = 44,01 g/mol for CO2)

first of all thanks for your superfast reply……i think it is the sum of all the atoms that contain in any specific compound as i just found on google……..but i am not sure about your answers……thanks anyway again…i really appreciated it.
