ei peeps, we really appreciate receiving nice articles (or basically any literary works, even blogs) from you about biology.
juz follow this link http://www.biology-online.org/ams_articlepost.php
and these easy guidelines:
1. Juz fill in the spaces provided for
* Article Name – basically this is where you put the title of your article
* Article Description – a consice description of your article. A sentence or two will do.
* Page Name – well this will be the name of the page provided for your article. (to make it eazy lets juz suppose it referts to the title of your page 1 and then page 2 and so on..)
* Page Description – short description of that page.
Note: if your article consists of only one page then Page Name and Article Name could be the same (so juz copy and paste); same goes for the Page and Article Descriptions…
* Category Name – juz choose from the drop down menu
* Main contents – Now this is the heart of your contribution.. this is whre u place the bulk of your literary works… In here, include:
– Title (font: Arial, font size: small, and in bold letters)
– Contents: (font: Arial, font size: x-small, normal; 250 words or more are good enuf)
– Source: where you get the article if its not your own composition
2. Dont forget to spellcheck the contents.. 😉
3a. If its only one page: click SAVE button
3b. If the article is long, creating multiple pages is recommended: click ADD ANOTHER PAGE. If so, fill in the space for name and description of that page.
Once saved, the article is then submitted for review… You will be notified of the status (accepted or rejected) via this thread or email..
Please note that the article section is for public viewing and therefore the use of slang and net lingos (or acronyms) as well as unconstructive contributions are discouraged.

What if someone already have their article / papers / publication from the blog somewhere, can they still share here?

Oh I already posted two abstracts of my published research somewhere in this board. Should I move/copy them to this new section? 😕

@ ahyeek, thats a good question.. anyone may share his/her original literary work/article/paper.. but if already published in a scientific journal the author needs to ask the publisher to grant permission to reproduce/distribute published articles..
Practically, anyone can contribute any biology article even if he/she isnt the author as long as the source (for example, blog/site) has no copyright issues. There are some sites (for example, wikipedia) wherein they grant permissions to reproduce contents even without prior request as long as certain guidelines are followed, like including the source/reference of that article. Submitting an article published in a journal may also be possible. That is if the article is "free" or is an "open-access". Reproducing free articles needs to qualify for "fair use". (wikipedia article about fair use, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use). Open-acess articles permit unrestricted use provided the original work is properly cited.

@Dr.Stein, ya ive seen them and theyre exceptional.. 😀
its ok you posted them there– as i would be equally delighted if youve had submitted them in Article section..
id say it all depends on your preference.. posting them in forum section will primarily make the article open for discussion, posting in article section will make them primarily open for viewing and comments (and will soon become searchable when new features are added)…

Can any one publish his/her own article/abstract used for a Science Congress/University project?
I’ve already submitted one but does not get any reply.
How would I know whether my article will published or not and how would I upload graphs/images from our hard disk?

hi Dip Jyoti! Sure, you may..
about the article you submitted, i usually send email to inform the author/contributor regarding the status of the article. Pls do tell me of the title, date and from what subcategory youve submitted your article..
or you may send them again, and alert me via this thread once you submit it.
when adding image(s), click the insert/edit image icon (its the yellow icon on the right side of the toolbar on the article submission page)

I’ve submitted it yesterday, Its about Wetland.
The title is: Bioaccumulation of Heavy Metals in the East Kolkata Wetland and its health hazards.
I’ve tried to upload a picture, as you mention it but it was not working. It wanted the url of the image.

yes, ive seen it now… itll be reviewed, and revised (fonts, and color) for conformity with the other articles,, and then ill inform you once its been published in our article section…
about the image, id rather want you to upload the images on other image hosting site like photobucket, and then copy-paste the URL to the icon ive mentioned… and since youve submitted your article without the image, you may submit the image alone — provided that you specify on the article title like this, figure(s) for: Bioaccumulation of Heavy Metals in the East Kolkata Wetland and its health hazards, so you dont have to submit the entire article again.. 🙂
