Participanthi can any one explain the heat shock protocol please? and can I freeze ecoli?

ParticipantIce crystals will form and destroy bacteria. You might not kill all of them, but the recovery rate is not going to be good, and if you keep your cells at -18ºC, the crystals will slowly grow and cause more and more damage… But you can use DMSO (di Methyl Sulfoxide) instead.
