I read on my textbook and here that: http://www.courseweb.uottawa.ca/medicine-histology/english/Renal/Default.htm

      quote :

The outer part, called the cortex, is a dark reddish brown color. The inner part, called the medulla, is lighter-colored.

But then there are websites that says: http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-the-renal-cortex.htm

      quote :

…the medulla is darker in color…the cortex can be identified by its paler color…

I think the cortex should be darker in color since the majority of the capillaries is in the cortex(or is it?), but I can’t be sure… 😕

      Please help! Thanks! 🙂
