I have been reacting to the ever growing amount of pathogenic fungi in our environs. Several species of Candida have been isolated in my urine culture. However, the specific species were not identified. Furthermore, in New Mexico where I live, perhaps only Lab Corp is proficient enough to do the task. Most of the labs here won’t even test for funguria. Additionally, I was told by one of the technicians that the abundance of micro flora in my urine, namely bacteria, is hindering them in isolating and identifying the fungi that are likely present. Does anyone have any thoughts?
