Feel tired, sleepy, have a long sleep, lazy for wake up, felt guilty, dyspepsia (uncomfortable stomach), flatus, etc. (vary individually). Why can it happen after I’ve got orgasm from masturbation??? How we explain it Biogically or Physiologically??? 🙄

I think the answer is more a psychology matter than a biology one. It is said that masturbation is healthy for your organism..

Yes, it is healthy. As long as it doen’t effect your daily life negatively. No need to feel guilty. The others may be psychologic

I’ve heard it reduces your risk of prostate cancer (if you’re a guy of course).

not only. It is also good for your methabolism, as it produces changes in hormon levels… And other things…

Masturbation is normal and healthy because our body produces hormone constantly, and in this case, male reproductive system, masturbation is a sign that the production of sperm is full and it needs to be secreted out.
Having masturbated and you feel exhausted is also normal. To reach orgasm, and even more at the peak point or the orgasm itself, we expend a lot of energy. That’s why you feel tired and sleepy. That’s biological process.
About feeling guilty… yes, it is psychological matter. Some people believe that masturbating is a sin, so they do something else to avoid masturbating like sports etc. But, in biological view, that cannot help because it is hormonal system and we cannot block or stop the system naturally.
When a man does not masturbate or doing sexual intercourse, the production of sperm will be excessive and it will be secreted out in a moment that we call as wet-dream.
According to myself, it is better for male to masturbate rather than doing nothing til get his wet-dream. The reason is that masturbating is undercontrolled, means that he knows what he will do and how to deal with that. I hope you understand what I mean 😉

I don’t agree to that.
I mean, I do agree that there is no reason to feel guilty after masturbation. Sexual desire is a natural feeling common to all adults. It is an important feeling – without it the continuance of our species would not be possible. Like all natural instincts it grows if you don’t satisfy it and it could grow big enough to disturb your daily life. Masturbation is a good way to get rid of it, besides it trains your PC muscle and your genital vascular system and helps you to find out which kind of stimulation you like and which not (this is true for men AND women) – all of this will make your future sexual intercourses feeling sooo much better (also your partner will be glad you did it).
But it is not true that the production of sperm can be “full”. Sperm cells are continuously produced in the tubuli seminiferi (one “full set” every 72 hours) where they are accumulated and kept in an inactivated state. They have a life span of several days, and if they are not activated and set free by ejaculation, they simply die and get decomposed just as any other cell. [/quote]

Do you know what will happen if you don’t remove sperm for so long (I’m sure you do)? It will come out itself. So that means masturbation is really needed especially for a male.

Are you sure? I thought the body recycles it

No. It’s released while the male sleeps, during what is commonly called a “wet dream”

What’s the meaning of “inactivated state”? 😕 Spermatozoon is a living creature and it cannot be set to activate or inactivate.
The wet dream is a phenomenon of high level of testosteron produced and the empty of mature spermatozoa (fertile) that fill up ampulla or ejaculatory duct. You yourselves said about “full set”, yes it is. Just like a stuff production in a factory, after it achieves the quota they will get them out and start to produce the next stuff. That’s nice if the stuff will be purchased by people, if not they will destroy it (for instance). Just like sperm, if it can be sprayed out it might be useful outthere or will be discarded by the owner. If it is kept inside the male reproductive ducts it will be resorbed (that’s the proper term, not decomposed) by phagocytes.
But you should not forget that during the sperm production there is a fluctuation of testosteron, and one of its function is sexual desire. Subconsciously, this hormone affect the nerve system so male have sexual fantasies and this stimulus, so-called erotic stimulus, will lead the muscle contraction and so on… you know…

Do your testosterone go up after you masturbate?

I can tell you from first hand (no pun) experience that masturbation can be addicting. There are both chemical and psychological parameters to the addiction (as with any addiction). So, I would head the advice above.
I won’t address the “sin” issue since this is not a religious forum.
It is important to also note that masturbation, although it can have some health benefits, is not necessary for health. I have heard people try to argue that it is almost mandatory for good health.
December 9, 2005 at 8:38 pm #34689
Well, it can be discussed whether or not it is a sin but we all have different religions-which is an important factor (and masturbating can’t be a sin)-and yes this is not a religion forum.
But I can argue about masturbating is good for health, because it really is. Especially for psychological health.
But of course you are absolutely free to make it or not. Nobody forces you. We are just trying to say no need to feel gulty or so on.
