Hi, I am doing effects of some metal cations on biofilm formed by bacteria.

How can I get the basic knowledge of their biological functions to bac?

I come from China and poorly in english expression. Thanks for you advises.

Am, sorry, but I don’t know what you mean by biofilm. You’re looking for some information about an impact of heavy meatl cations on bacterial cells, right?

I believe gfxmu is asking about the effects on their cell walls.

Sorry, I really dont know. But new plasters (band-aids?) here have silver in them to sanitise small cuts 😉

That’s right! But not for heavy metal cation, for example, Na, K, Mg,Ca and the other trace metals.

biofilms are only available in bacterial colonies. It’s the extracellular matrix formations that you are interested in studying right?

      That’s right.

But I want to know the biological functions of the metal cations to bacterial cells, not biofilm or extracellular polymer substance.
