hi what would happen to a cell if its injected with another whole dna? for instance i inject a strawberry dna into a cucumber plants cell witch already contains its own dna. would it grow multiple personalities 😀

Seriously is very mind boggling for me how does the cell know which one to read? Would the cell die? If so why?

      thanks

It will have to depend on the vector you use, which is also why bacteria is much simpler. The cell doesnt just read, it all depends on the RNA polymerase, which with the addition of different factors will bind more to the genes you want, and express them. Look for eukaryote vectors, and when you find one, try to look up whether it can be used in animals.

You are worrying way too much here. Most the vectors used for animals are already designed for these things. Just find the right one.

iu read recently, that in the human genome, there are traces of "fossil" virus dna, that infected ancient humans. but why our cells go on a rampage with virus data is unknown to me
