Mushroom/ basidiomycete fungi

Hi all.

 

I’m currently reading “Microbiology: A Very Short Introduction” by Nicholas Money. And I came by this sentence:

“Mushroom development by basidiomycete fungi redistributes the subterranean biomass accumulated during the feeding phase of the colony into aboveground fruit bodies for the purpose of spore formation and dispersal.”

 

I’m not a Biology expert but isn’t Mushroom basidiomycete fungus?

Or does the author mean the “umbrella” part?!
