      A cell containing 92 chromatids at metaphase of mitosis would, at its completion, produce two nuclei containing how many chromosomes?
      A. 12
      B. 16
      C. 46
      D. 23
      E. 92
      My reasoning: I picked 92 because mitosis produces two identical daughter cells. If there were 92 chromatids initially, shouldn’t there be 92 chromatids (and 46 pairs) in the end?

      At metaphase is the genome doubled, not so after the mitosis 😉

      i didn’t look at the link
      but
      here is your answer
      92 chromatids will split into 4 cells with 23 chromatids
      after this 2 will fuse. giving 46 chromatids. and then DNA duplication would produce 92 chromatids

      your answer would be 46 chromosomes.
      as the earlier 2 posts claimed
