Q6. Explain why it is necessary for even simple cells to contain several hundred genes.
I’m at a blank here.
(Note, Q7 is to do with cytoplasms.)
Q7. b) Of which type of chemical compound are they made?
I think it’s protein molecules, but are protein molecules classified as a chemical compound? Do I have to say it’s made out of amino acid subunits or something? I’m confused.
It’s vague because the cytoplasm contains a lot more stuff than just proteins…including water, inorganic salts, lipid polymers etc etc. What "type" would this fall under? Even if we take a broader definition and pretend that they’re asking for types, there’s still a lot of leeway in defining what exactly a type is.
