ParticipantSo, we have a new forum obviously. 2 notable changes
1. More mod powers!
2. ????
3. User avatars now active!
4. Profit.I think that’s about it. I was told that more stuff would come/tweaked.

ParticipantMay be more sober. Like Science or Nature. Now looks fresh…too much. Smiles in a scientific forum is not my idea of scientific debate. This aspect may be rejected by serius people.

Participantquote GegnianMD:May be more sober. Like Science or Nature. Now looks fresh…too much. Smiles in a scientific forum is not my idea of scientific debate. This aspect may be rejected by serius people. Why is that? Scientific can be light hearted and have a sense of humor too…. And serious discussions and ideas can be exchanged without making sad faces. That is why the busiest and richest area of many labs I have been in is the coffe corner. You discuss ideas in confidence, even the wildest and later in the lab, you see what can be tested, seriously. And this is not Science or Nature either. And the serious discussions are usually carried without smilies.

ParticipantYou are correct, i know this is not an scientific journal. Belive it or not: exist people that prefer to be serius. Maybe is irrelevant if are more "productive" or not, i did not say "succesfull people".And i respectifully understand your conviction.
Please, all the users have the rigth to use or not "smiles", i know that too. So de Admin make an smart choice, but personally: i do not like "smiles".
So, do not consider my comment as my bad imitation of "Torquemada".
I am student of medicine but i am graphic designer too and my observations may be related to the family font, menu and the lemon color .
Biology online, in my opinion is a great place to be. -

ParticipantI like the new look but is it still possible to sort the member list according to total posts and check how close I am to the top? Also, I miss the "mark all forums read" button.

Participantoh, a new feature is the fact that posts in the off-topic sections are not counted anymore in the total post count of each user. This feature was implemented so that the total post count can be used (at least very vaguely) as an indicator of how useful that person is on the forum

That could deep-six my plan to have the highest post count on the forum. 👿

ParticipantOn the sugar allergy discussion, I tried to quote DrDahlman s last line which he wrote on Sat Jan 12 at 5.18pm but the computer insisted on quoting everything that he had written at that time. I couldnt or didnt know how to delete it but obviously someone in Admin must have done it for me becaue the last line quote does appear as it should have done.
I am not sure if it is my fault or progrm fault? -
