Hi, I am reviewing over some cell biology topics from highschool. I have a few things I was wondering if anyone could please clarify for me involving genetic material. Thanks!

Question: If I understand correctly, the chromosomes are responsible for carrying the genetic information of the cell. They are located inside the nucleus and they are composed of bundled up DNA. DNA is a polymer that is composed of 4 nucleotides. The traits are carried by genes are actually hundreds to thousands of nucleotides long.

      Am I right on this???

It is simple and very short, but essentialy correct. I would just point out that genes are not a separate entity but just a meaningful stretch of DNA among other stretches whose function is more or less understood, and need not be translated (ie regulatory and probably other)
