If you would be desolated in an island with nobody to be with and talk with, and an animal is only there for you, what animal would that be and why?
There’s nothing more than Buta–our dog.
He’ll keep you awake! Dogs learn tricks, and save lives. - December 15, 2007 at 4:08 pm #79656mithParticipant
Dolphin/whale for obvious reasons
- December 17, 2007 at 8:53 am #79693volcobParticipant
tricky question
😆
a Homo sapien sapien of course
where would that island be?
i guess in Eden
or in one of the islands in Boracay 😆
its like an adam and eve scenario 🙄
- December 18, 2007 at 10:13 am #79738mcarParticipant
But it’s only you and your animal.
- December 18, 2007 at 4:20 pm #79754JonesParticipant
Probably a dog, but maybe a horse. I don’t know. I guess if that situation arises I’ll know.
- December 19, 2007 at 4:04 am #79791mcarParticipant
Choose your dog I think.
- December 19, 2007 at 4:21 pm #79801JonesParticipant
Why? Dogs may be the companion keep you sane type, but they serve no real purpose. Horse is transportation, hauling, things of that nature, and they make great companions and when you develop a relationship with a horse they actually have been known to protect someone like a dog does.
I’d go with the horse. That’s what I’d do.
- December 19, 2007 at 9:18 pm #79816February BeetleParticipant
I want a dragon.
- December 19, 2007 at 9:19 pm #79817February BeetleParticipant
Dogs could help with manual labor (Think Husky!) and plus maybe they could hunt small animals for you! And be nice company 🙂
Ohh, anyone seen "Never Ending Story?" what kind of animal was in there?
- December 19, 2007 at 9:40 pm #79818alextempletParticipant
I would want another human.

Luck dragon
- December 19, 2007 at 10:22 pm #79829JonesParticipant
it was a dog dragon thing, I used to have nightmares about it.
- December 20, 2007 at 4:17 am #79846February BeetleParticipant
The Dark Crystal was way creepier than the Luck Dragon! I would want the luck dragon on my island with me. It talks to you, and can fly.
Alex, what if you got stuck with a human you couldn’t stand? There are some people that I could get stuck with that would end up with only 1 living human on the island.
Plus, that is cheating. - December 20, 2007 at 6:44 am #79848alextempletParticipant
No it’s not cheating. The question was what animal; humans are definitely classified under the animal kingdom, are we not? Also, if I couldn’t stand him/her, he/she would become my lunch. I’ve either got someone to help me find food or someone to turn into food. It’s a win/win situation.
- December 20, 2007 at 12:53 pm #79861DracoParticipant
So did I. That thing is quite scary when your young.
- December 21, 2007 at 1:34 pm #79906mcarParticipant
Some might choose to be alone than to be with alex.

In the words of Astus, this makes me a sad panda.
- December 22, 2007 at 3:55 am #79927February BeetleParticipant
Alex, you did just say you would eat a human. That could be maybe an understandable reason to we weary of being with you on an island?
- December 22, 2007 at 4:51 am #79929alextempletParticipant
Just be sure to work with me and not against me.
- December 22, 2007 at 5:51 am #79931February BeetleParticipant

I am so glad I don’t own a television.
- December 22, 2007 at 2:16 pm #79935February BeetleParticipant
What a Hippi.
Last night I was watching What Not to Wear and Good Eats while playing my favorite computer game. HA super brain-numbing activities. But it’s okay because I am SICK - December 22, 2007 at 4:04 pm #79936alextempletParticipant
I hate hippies, and I hate numbing my brain.

What do you have against alex?Calm down Draco, I have nothing against alex. It’s just a speculation that It’s absolutely weary if one night you’ll be hit on the head, and I’m not pointing that alex is already bad for saying that.
Well I’m thinking that I would be brave enough to be with alex on that island I guess.
- December 23, 2007 at 3:25 pm #79973alextempletParticipant

Friends that stabbed me in the back.
- December 27, 2007 at 10:42 am #80052mcarParticipant
Oh understand that’s absolutely a 🙁 part.
What would you like to ask first if ever you were stranded in that island? i’m brave as I said to be with you there 🙂
- January 4, 2008 at 10:03 am #80258mcarParticipant
I think that we go back to the question for all.
- January 7, 2008 at 10:36 pm #80354JonesParticipantquote alextemplet:I hate hippies, and I hate numbing my brain.
Tolerance and intelligence go hand in hand. Why do you hate hippies?
- January 8, 2008 at 1:20 am #80358alextempletParticipant
Because they never shower.
- January 8, 2008 at 9:17 am #80370February BeetleParticipant
How often do we have to shower to have you like us? Because I might need to change my routine…
- January 9, 2008 at 7:10 am #80392alextempletParticipant
At least once a week would be nice; once a day would be grand.
- January 9, 2008 at 10:37 am #80400DracoParticipant
I find once every other day acceptable.
- January 9, 2008 at 5:25 pm #80407JonesParticipant
What exactly do you think a hippie is, dear? I’m begining to think you may have the wrong idea.
- January 10, 2008 at 12:05 pm #80426mcarParticipant
Though hippies do not shower, that’s their natural.
- January 10, 2008 at 10:21 pm #80459alextempletParticipant
I was playing off of a stereotype for the sake of humor.
- January 10, 2008 at 10:27 pm #80462JonesParticipant
Humor is always welcome as long as you keep in mind literal meaning.
- January 11, 2008 at 12:46 pm #80494mcarParticipant
Speaking of shower things, it’s common in our place to do it twice.
- January 11, 2008 at 4:46 pm #80509JonesParticipant
twice a day, one in the morning and one at night.
- January 11, 2008 at 5:58 pm #80514alextempletParticipant
I’ve done that before, although lately I’ve been sticking to one shower per day. But now that I have my own place (*humongous grin*) with no one else to waste hot water, I might start showering twice a day again.
- January 11, 2008 at 10:08 pm #80535JonesParticipant
I have 3 brothers and my parents to think of when I take a shower, so I take two really hot ones a day and laugh when the water turns cold on them.
- January 12, 2008 at 6:13 am #80552alextempletParticipant
That sounds deliciously evil. 😈
- January 12, 2008 at 10:34 am #80562DracoParticipant
But there are more people like that, very annoying when you meet the really evil ones.
- January 12, 2008 at 12:47 pm #80569mcarParticipant
When I used to go to school once, I’m awake by quarter to 4 in the morning. The water was so cold, and I shouted when I splashed the water over my body. If the water is cold, they say it’s better to wet your lower extremities first, going up. Just as when babies are bathed.
- January 12, 2008 at 1:10 pm #80570February BeetleParticipant
I defiantly wouldn’t shower often if I had to shower in cold water. Reminds me of a Tom Waits song.
- January 14, 2008 at 4:48 pm #80692JonesParticipant
I’m not THAT evil… Just mediocre evil.
- January 14, 2008 at 5:16 pm #80697alextempletParticipant
As long as you’re evil; that’s all that matters.
- January 14, 2008 at 5:20 pm #80703JonesParticipant
Haha, 😀
- January 15, 2008 at 7:12 am #80728mcarParticipant
Seals, walruses, penguins, polar bears…adapted to such very cold water conditions…
What happened by the way to those people who tried to set a record where they can immerse themselves longer? - January 16, 2008 at 8:15 am #80785alextempletParticipant
Hypothermia, more than likely.
- January 16, 2008 at 10:40 am #80792DracoParticipant
That or they’re trapped in blocks of ice.
- January 16, 2008 at 2:28 pm #80802February BeetleParticipant

- January 16, 2008 at 4:35 pm #80815JonesParticipant
What kind of cause would make you go swimming in February?
- January 16, 2008 at 4:40 pm #80820DracoParticipant

- January 16, 2008 at 4:42 pm #80821JonesParticipant

- January 16, 2008 at 4:53 pm #80826DracoParticipant
something like world peace prehaps.
- January 16, 2008 at 5:14 pm #80831JonesParticipant
If world peace could be solved by swimming in freezing cold water, I’d jump in.
- January 16, 2008 at 7:41 pm #80842alextempletParticipant
World peace will never be attainable as long as there are people around.
- January 16, 2008 at 7:44 pm #80843DracoParticipant
Too true, but that doesn’t stop people from trying does it.
- January 16, 2008 at 10:05 pm #80858JonesParticipant
At least there are some that are still willing to try. 🙂 That’s what’s important.
- January 17, 2008 at 3:55 am #80862February BeetleParticipantquote Jones:What kind of cause would make you go swimming in February?
They are doing it for KC special Olympics.
- January 17, 2008 at 4:21 pm #80878JonesParticipant
Oh. Well that’s nice of them. Risk hypothermia and possible brain damage for the special olympics. Maybe they’ll be in it some day. They couldn’t just have a bake sale?
- January 18, 2008 at 1:45 am #80889mcarParticipant
I remembered that our department had previously planned an activity last year, "Animal Marathon" wear your self-made animal mascott and parade within the urbanized city. I think that’s good way to promote peace in our city I guess. Swimming would be nice but the city’s nearest river, Pasig River isn’t a good place for swimming. Swim there and you’ll find yourself 6 feet underground–really that it is already contaminated. Real brain damage too!
- January 18, 2008 at 2:14 am #80893alextempletParticipant
I would go swimming in February just for the irony of it. That sounds awesome.
- January 18, 2008 at 2:26 am #80895mcarParticipant
Really, but for the peace, you’ll be there!
- January 18, 2008 at 1:47 pm #80902February BeetleParticipant
You should really do it at a fund raiser… because they have paramedics there waiting for you!
- January 18, 2008 at 2:09 pm #80907DracoParticipant
Well that at least is something.
- January 18, 2008 at 5:11 pm #80916alextempletParticipant
Fine fine, I’ll go along as part of the world peace fundraiser too. You talked me into it.
- January 18, 2008 at 6:09 pm #80922JonesParticipant

- January 22, 2008 at 12:17 pm #80972mcarParticipantquote :Jones wrote:It’s just a bad idea in general.
That is, would not be good for alex?
Going back to animals, cows and their precious blood is really important for the Masai people in Kenya.
- January 22, 2008 at 4:21 pm #80984JonesParticipant
Would not be good for anyone. It’s just a generally STUPID idea, and no matter the number of paramedics around it’s still possible to be hurt or to get extremely sick.
- January 22, 2008 at 5:11 pm #80985ElenParticipant
A very strong homing pidgeon.
- January 22, 2008 at 10:09 pm #81006JonesParticipant

I got your point here.
- January 23, 2008 at 4:18 pm #81022JonesParticipant
At least someone does…
- January 23, 2008 at 5:39 pm #81042February BeetleParticipant
It depends on what is important to a person, standing for a cause of the chance of getting sick. People have been doing it for a long time, so the people who do it just weigh what they find important, and make a decision. I think people are more willing to come watch and give money if people do crazy things, instead of just "hey… come give us some money for the kids!"
- January 23, 2008 at 9:53 pm #81053JonesParticipant
It’s not just about getting sick! It’s about putting yourself in a dangerous situation that’s more bad than the good that could come out of it! AND they’re not just kids you know, people who are mentally challanged can still be the same age as you even if they don’t have the same level of thinking.
You’re right, people may pay more to see crazy shit but there’s a million other things people could do than jumping into a freezing cold lake. - January 24, 2008 at 11:39 am #81076mcarParticipant
Exactly. There is a person here in our country known as the "running priest". He runs for a cause, when the government is being opposed; but better if he’ll do his real advocacy instead of going along with a group’s strike.
- January 25, 2008 at 8:05 pm #81167February BeetleParticipant
I know not all mental challeneged people are kids. But, most fund raiser are for helping children. I was refering to fund raisers in general.
- January 29, 2008 at 12:49 pm #81230mcarParticipant
Yeah. It is good to know that. Absolutely. That at least is a good cause to raise funds and use them to make the life others better at least. Well, we have come far; I appreciate that the other sides of our reality is at least within our thoughts.
Going back to the point of this topic, I mean animals; the Galapagos island is a good example for knowing diversity. The iguanas there are salt water in origin. Correct me if I am wrong. Is it only the Galapagos the place where you can find such salt water iguanas?
- January 30, 2008 at 4:53 pm #81265JonesParticipant
Well at least everyones entertaining hypothermia so the kids can’t get new text books every year that they’ll never really read and half of them will fail the class.
People are spoiled enough as it is.
I can see money being raised for cancer reaserch and stuff like that, but come on. - February 1, 2008 at 1:11 am #81309mcarParticipant
As always, the common cause for fundraising.
- February 1, 2008 at 2:08 pm #81324DracoParticipant
People raise money for the victims of natural disasters and half that money hasn’t been used after a year.
- February 2, 2008 at 10:57 am #81344mcarParticipant
Mostly, half of such money might go to someone else’s pocket.(That is never new here) How about there?
