I wanted to get some information on abt how this bacteria "Pseudomonas spp." is able to resist drugs…i have been trying to (and still doing so right now) find information only about this specific bacteria but i cant seem to have any luck 🙁 . So, if any of you knows anything about it please do help and if possible i need very detailed explanation about it, but anyway any little information would be appreciated
Some species of Pseudomonas (e.g. Pseudomonas aeruginosa) can produce beta-lactamase. This is an enzyme which degrades the beta-Lactam ring, an essential structure found in most antibiotics. Some species of the organism are sensitive to some antibiotics.
Hope this helps. You can read about it in any microbiology text book or on the net.
