      Cachexia is a syndrome characterized by symptoms of unintentional weight loss, progressive muscle wasting, and a loss of appetite. Cancer patients often suffer from this condition. Moreover, cachexia is responsible for at least 20 percent of cancer deaths. Healthy fat tissue is extremely important for the survival of patients with cancer cachexia.
