MIA6Participant1. My biology teacher told us that species is a group of organisms that are able to interbreed with each other. It means like if cats want to be in the ‘species’ category, they must be able to have offspring with other animals,like dogs??? But i found in the dictionary, it says: composed of related individuals that resemble one another, are able to breed among themselves, but are not able to breed with members of another species.
These are two completely different definitions for ‘species’!!!
2. What do ‘primitive cells’ in biology mean?Thanks a lot for helping me.

actually both definition are rather similar, the second definition contain some extra point..
i think primitive cell refer to the stem cell

I would say that second definition is more accurate cause first is just part of second. I would also add to definition that offsprings of interbreeding within one specie must be fertail or in other case male and female were not same specie. Wolf and dog, horse and jackass (hmm i cant remember other name 🙂 ), lion and tiger can breed but cannot make fertail offspring.
I think you cannot name any type of cells primitive in general way but only in regard to some other cells depending of subject you are refering to.
