It may be a simple question, but I need a simple explanation of buoyancy.
For example: Hydrophytes have fewer stomata and large air spaces for buoyancy?

I guess in this chance buoyancy is how close you can get to matching the density of your support medium – air, in this case. It relates to how much material and/or power must be put into support.

Yes it is the ability to float in a medium of a given density. For vegetals living in water, that would be important as it will have a strong impact on where they will be in the water column (and how much light and O2 they will get).
