Has there been any new news on amoebas?

Last I read, the cytoplasm is made of sol and gel. The membrane must still be a lipid bilayer, but it is not going to burst in pond water because its got some kind of jelly like substance or maybe an armour or basically a basal laminar that is like kevlar????????????

Help I really wondering already what an amoeba is made up of!
