      Does anyone could explain (or link) the importance of polarity of an antimicrobial agent in effectiviness of inhibiting bacteria.

      antimicrobial peptides for example which are positivly charged can interact with the negativley charged bacterial membrane (forming pores). so this can be the first step of mode of action of the antimicrobial peptide.
