I was wondering if anyone has heard of the white eye mutation in drosophila being autosomal? We are working with fruit flies in my genetics lab and the TA hinted that our stock may be an autosomal white eye mutation. How common is this? Especially for it to be used as a stock in a genetics fruit fly lab?

i have only heard of an X-linked one, but i am sure there can be multiple mutations that would result in white eyes (if any of the enzymes in the pathway get mutated the color is most likely white)
