why do humans use only a small part of our brain?

you know i was thinking about that the other day. i had a lecture on the brain a few weeks ago and it got me thinking 😛
we dont use a small part of the brain, our thinking section just isnt whole brain.

if you think about just HOW much small intricate processes are going on in our body every second its unimaginable. the brain has to be the size it is to coordinate the constant nerve signals being sent here there and everywhere. every section of the brain controls some different function. The limbic region for instance controls emotion!! very interesting to note that the olfactory bulb, which makes up part of the limbic system is directly linked to the sense of smell, making smell the most potent emotion conjuring sense!! just think about how smells can randomly remind you of the weirdest stuff 😀

With all that is going on in our bodies, the most important function for the brain would not be able to sit and ponder about the univers and figure it out 😛 it would be to keep all your electrical signals being taken care of, reacting, inhibiting reactions, monitoring cell functions – which we have soo many of. Just think of any system. it needs to be organized. for example on your computer, if you store all your documents in one folder it will be so HARD to find any. but if you create folders and some organization, it will be easier for you to find according to relevance of the file. Operating system fiiles also need to be organized, logically for efficience of the function of a system.

We dont literally use a small part of our brain. the thinking part of our brain jsut doesnt take up most of our brain matter. I think its the cerebrum (if i remember correctly i just know it starts with a C ) that separates us from other animals where it allows us to "think" even though i reckon animals do think too, but i guess in a different way. That is the section that you are referring to i gather. We even have another thinking area "premotor area" where the thinking about movement occurs. The point im trying to make is that the many funcitons we carry out, whether we are aware of them or not, or whether they are physical or just thoughts , are controlled by different parts of the brain. We dont use a small portion at all!!

neurology is the best hey!!! :D:D:D

I think that despond on ourself; we can use 20% or 100% of our brain but we have no research that say only we use small part of our brain. However, this is not true for the people who have disabled 🙄

      hi, everybody 😆
happily, we use all 100% of our brain. We use our brain so much, that sometimes its hard to realize that our brain is doing so much. Our brain controls how we feel; how we think; how we move; how we see, hear, taste and smell; and has many other functions too. We are just not aware of the many functions the brain is performing all the time
