Hello everyone I am an student and I want to ask that ”Why Cell membrane is called living?”

because its a component of cell which protects the cell from external damage

I don’t think that’s the reason

coz’ Cell membrane have nature selectively permeable

Consider: is the membrane of a living cell at equilibrium?

The cell membrane is living because it’s the means of support for all living things. Anything composed of cells is a living organism. Don’t think of the cell membrane as an actual living thing seperate from the cell itself.

Of course not, but the membrane is still called living. Why? Hint: look at Darby’s post.

Well, it performs an action, controls the movement inside and outside the cell. 😕

Darby has 1000 posts, and searching didn’t come up with anything pertaining to this subject. And my statement is correct in terms of its meaning. "The cell membrane is living because… its the means of support for all cells/living things…" That’s why it is living. The cell membrane is animate allowing things to enter and exit the cell, doing so supports the cell in terms of obtaining organic matter, and also serves as its structure.

Well that was my first choice obviously, but unless your seeing something that I am not, there is no post by darby unless you’re referring to him under an alias.
