Hello I have one question involving genetics that has been bothering me for a while.
I take it that every aspect of a human comes from his genes and genes want to spread about. So there must be "contradicting" genes to explain certain human behaviors like for example people that use contraceptive items so as to not reproduce. A gene that moves a person to experience the pleasure of sex overriding the genes that motivate a person to reproduce. So if genes "want" to keep passing on and on through generation to generation(as Ive understood under my small study of genetics) and all human aspects and behaviors come from their genes then we must conclude that there are "contradicting" genes that override one another or there is something else motivating humans.
Now is it true that there are genes that override one another?
Excuse me for my ignorance I know very little about genetics.

Yeah, looking just at genes and their evolutionary "needs" is a gross oversimplification. On the next level, gene expression, there are a lot of conflicting adaptations.
Schizophrenia, for example, may be a genetic mix and expression pattern that might just miss very functional creativity.

Anthroposophia, don’t forget, that the genes have no idea, that you’re using some kind of contraception, so these genes are actually cooperating .
But as Darby said, it’s not that easy…

Well, this is a philosophical question more than a biological one. We are not like machines or computers. Which means we are not under a strict control of our genes. Remember that, people are becoming more intellectual and running away from the fact that ‘humans are animals’. Since we’re turning to be an unnatural power over nature (unfortunately a careless power), we are leaving natural ways of living, one of which is sex without contraceptive items.
