Red blood cells do not have DNA. They do have RNA, though. The White blood cells contain the DNA.

Not true, red blood cells have DNA… in birds for example. Otherwise correct. But maybe you could develop a little bit more your questions….

really? never know red blood cells in bird have DNA. but human red blood cells doesn’t contain dna right? since they don’t have a nucleus and chromosomes?

Yes human blood cells don’t have DNA. There is a thread in the cell bio forum with pictures about the shape of red blood cells. In every other animal except mamals, RBC have DNA and a nucleus

WBC has got DNA and RBCs are called enucleated cells (i.e., no DNA). In the course of evolution they lost nucleus in order to give maximum space for hemoglobin for efficient respiration.
