Would there be any consequences – marginal or critical – if mutations should occur in any of the DNA sequences which code for rRNA?

If you mean drastic as in loss of function then yes it’s possible. You can say that a loss of function is going to be linked to a mutation however you cannot say that a mutation in sequence automatically means a loss of function.

The importance of 16S or 18S rRNA coding genes sequencing in phylogeny shows that if some mutations can be critical, not all of them are. Same thing about acquisition of antibiotic.
