Well, my question is how does knowing that pH decreases the rate of enzyme catalyzed reactions impact on society, technology and the environment?

      Thanks in advance.

It may be just me, but that question sounded really…odd. Could you rephrase?

Well, we know that pH decreases the rate of enzyme catalyzed reactions. How can we apply this knowledge to society, technology and the environment.

Decreasing pH will affect the rate of enzyme, when the enzyme rate for chemical reaction is slow down, the chemical reactions in a person’s body will thus be affected. And eventually, the person’s actions will be slowed down. So, looking at this perspective, we can actually use this so-called ‘tactic’ to catch criminal. Well, this may seem impossible cos one would ask how we can make the criminal body’s pH to decrease and in turn to affect the body’s chemical reactions. Well, I am also not sure how but this is only my view. But wouldn’t it be great if one day we could just decrease the criminal’s pH which will enable police to catch them easily?

Hey You are Using lot many Bitechnological produts such as food addetive, bevrages ect.
Once these were costing lot but today due to enzyme kinetic knowledge these are very cheap for us, Medicines are mainly…….

We just did research on lactic acid bacteria, turns out pH denaturation is dependent on proteins and acid-tolerance response mechanisms. Think milk cheese etc..

If you’re asking what applications having to learn this stuff has –

      – it can help you to understand your own digestive functions.

      – it can help you to understand the effects of acid rain.

      – it can tell you why acidosis, as a side effect of certain forms of dieting, is bad for you.
