      is fat actually generated somewhere within the body or does it just accumulate when too much is consumed? i know that the reason for fat in the body (or at least one reason) is because it stores more calories than other substances (9 cal./g, as opposed to 4 cal./g in carbohydrates and such), but is it actually created when there are calories needing to be stored (if that makes any sense at all)? I don’t know a lot on this, so i apologize if i’m not being completely accurate here, but i’m curious, so i thought i’d ask. thanks in advance.

      fats are imported from outside of our bodies and stored in adipocytes (fat cells). 😆

      fats can be made in cells –> fatty acid synthesis takes place in the cytosol and glycerol-3-phosphate is generated during glycolysis when dihydroxyacetonphosphate is produced.

      ok, it’s like this:
      Fats are taken in by the digestive system, where they are broken into glycerol and fatty acids. These are used for some construction functions, such as fabricating biomembranes etc, and if there is an excess of them they are stored in adipocytes.
      But an excess of carbs(that surpases the liver’s capacity of storing glycogen) or proteins is also converted into fats and stored in adipocytes. This conversion is done in the cell that will store the fat later.

      that’s a very big mistake people can make in a diet for example. If i don’t eat fats and much carobhydrates i won’t get fat. Wrong :p most fat storage comes from an excess of carbohydrates consumed.

      but ironically, some diet guide said so..:lol:
      Avoid things which have a word "fat". Seems like fats are our enemies meanwhile we really need certain fatty acids like ALA, AA, DHA and SA…. 🙁

      So, people find something that can substitutes all fat in their diet..and the choice goes to CARBOHYDRATES….yay!! viva carbs.. 😆

      Also, fat storage is linked to metabolism. Dieting, skipping meals, and eating too many carbs and not enough fat, disrupts the balance of the metabolism. So the body will use the carbs for emmediate energy and convert leftover to fat and along with fat derived from the diet, store it for future when food is not so abundant, which rarely happens in some countries. People who have survived trauma or starvation, where severe weight loss has occured must be especially carefull that they do not become fat, when normal eating is resumed.

      @victor
      90% of the weight loss diets out there cause extreme metabolic imbalance. And the other 10% aren’t so great for your body either…

      the best diet is to eat normally and healthy (just normal vegetables and so on) or take cosmetic surgery 😆
