I’ve been using NCBI bookshelf for a while – sadly the thing it lacks is a freely browsable Genetics book – but I’ll probably have to buy one for a course in it soon anyway.

i have thought of doing my research in Bioinformatics, so found this book good for the stuff but its too costly so thought of studying the pdf first before purchasing this book.

Actually the 5th edition is available somewhere in the net as e-book but not a PDF, complete with its figures, and I think it is a free-access now because the latest edition (6th) is already available. I notice that there is a big revision for the 6th edition but for basic principle of Immunology then the 5th is still more than just enough for me π

Although this point ultimately to the same website that is at the beginning of this thread. But I have to admit that having the possibility to navigate in the chapters is great and better than the limited navigation in the NCBI website.

Some sourses offered on MIT’s online courseware have audio taped and video recorded lecture which you can download from itune for free. I do find this helpful rather than just reading the book. Some of them contain problem set and exam with keys.
