What is the significance of lower % PCVs or higher % PCVs in blood (mixed with saline solutions)? We did an experiment and there is a decreasing trend between PCV and NaCl … Does the low PCV indicate that more cells has lysed (at the higher NaCl conc)? How would you tell which concentration of saline is isotonic? 😕
Your help will be much appreciated

0.9% is isotonic. And you would expect more cell lysis at lower concentrations…

Cell appearence should give a clue.
