      1. In humans, the allele for red hair,c, is recesive to the allele for brown hair,C. A man and his wife both have brown hair. They both have 5 children, 3 of whom have red hair, while 2 have brown hair. Explain how this may happen.

2.In Dalmation dogs, the allele for black spots is dominant to the allele for liver spots. If a breeder has a black-spotted dog, how can she find out if it is homozygous or hetrozygous for this characteristic?

Any simple answers would be much appriciated.

      Thanks

      1. Punnet squares and a bit of work are your friends. But I suggest that you read the definition of recessive and dominant in genetic, that might help, and even make the Punnet squares just a cherry on top of a well understood basic definition of Mendelian genetic.

      2. Back cross is the answer. Now I suggest that you try to figure by yourself how that work 🙂
