How at the cellular level does salt concen affect halophilic bacterial growth?
I’ve come up with only a little bit, but I need more …
– at optimum the Na+ ions make the cell membrane stronger and increase Na+ depend. active transport and movement–> increased division?
– higher—->> weakens the cell membrane –> ??
-lower—->> not enough for the Na+ -dependent transport—> decreased cell division
– at high/low [] the water availability causes the cell to crenate/lyase?
What else can I add?THnaks
