hi everyone,
I did a little research about why my hair is always so dry and I found out that its because of low sebum secretion. What can I take to make my body make more of the stuff? Especially for my hair.
There are no products that help for my hair and I’d rather have my own body maintaining itself anyway.
And I’d rather have oily hair than dry hair.
Thanks.

Inject testosterone, one of its effects is increasing sebum glands activity. BUt please be careful of its virilisation effect, which you cannot avoid that once you inject the hormone

ok, will this really work to make my hair smoother by producing more oil?

I suggest you not to do experiment with endogenous hormone if you are not sure about it 😉
Anyway, why don’t you apply hair beauty products like hair oil or conditioner? They are much safer then you try to apply something to change your body machinery mechanism.

Because they will not work for me. I want something that will fix the problem at the roots.

Hi alion. Your post took me back to the days I started having the same problem/searching and questioning the sebum issue as well as dht blockers and all the other things imaginable to try and "Fix" what became and still to this day, is my worst nightmare. I’m not trying to alarm you, by any means but it is a smart idea to familiarize yourself of it’s symptoms and existence as it appears to be rapidly spreading.
I will give you a good link for this.First off, you mention wanting to tag this issue at the roots. Does this mean that your entire hair strands are dry to the effect of changing it’s color or pigment, or down to your scalp and you are having dandruff or maybe a tight scalp like condition or is just the ends of your hair dry or maybe breaking? Are you having more than the usual in hair loss? Could you be more specific on this and what exactly you are trying to reverse?
They are correct on this sebum injection deal you considered. DON"T!!!
Your skin is your largest organ. Everything from the air you breath to the foods/liquids you drink are going to affect your overall health and appearance. If you have unhealthy looking hair/skin/nails it is because your immune system is being taxed or something is not right in your body. The best thing you can do for yourself (and hair) is to drink plenty and I mean AS MUCH AS YOU CAN of WATER! It keeps your body flushed and hydrated. Eat right. Your greens in the vegetable department are very rewarding. You may already know this but be sure to keep your Vit B’s going. Avoid alot of salt. Caffein/sodas only dehydrate you more. Get plenty of sleep.
Find out why your hair is so dry. There is a reason for everything and the sebum injection route would only be treating and causing more problems. Not curing them
Here is the link I mentioned. You need to hear what they say about the hair and the program is lengthy. You can use fast forward button to try to pick it out if you do not have time to hear the whole thing. But you should, even if at another time, hear the entire thing.
