I have a homework question for genetics which asks what chromsome the gene LDLR is located on and what protein it encodes. Via the internet, I found that it encodes chromosome 19; however, I’ve been having a hard time figuring out what protein it encodes. Does anyone have any websites recc’s that could help me?
Thanks!

The NCBI’s website has a searchable database of every known gene in the human (and in some cases, animal) genome along with some information about their purpose and function.
The first link is a link to the LDLR gene’s info. The second is just to the NCBI’s gene website.
