Is it true that you can clone up to 500-600nt when you use M13 as a vector?

I don’t know what the largest insert on record is, but Maniatis says 40+ kilobases is possible. One nice thing about the M13 vectors is that they produce single-stranded DNA, which has provided the best quality sequence I have ever seen, even with 32P back in the old days.
