ParticipantHi there
I have a question that I cannot seem to do…(I have a blood lab coming up and these a few practice questions to do before hand)..could someone please help me!
Using a Neubaeur haemocytometer, you make a count of leucocytes in a sample of human blood. In three 1 mm2 squares, you count 300 cells. What is your estimate of white blood cell density? (hint: the depth of the counting chamber is 0.1 mm).
-9,000 cells/µL
-1,000 cells/µL
-100 cells/µL
-90 cells/µL
-900 cells/µLall i know is that the formula (C/V)*M is used other than that not sure c=300 v=? m=?
thanks alot

ParticipantCalculate the volume of a square. You got surface and depth, this shouldn’t be too hard. Convert in Microliters.
How many cells per square on average (divide number of cells by number of square) you then have a number of cells per volume and you convert in the right units… Et voila. - May 8, 2006 at 12:31 pm #48066
