ParticipantHello,
Just got the call to teach this course. The schedule is extremely limiting. Not much time for labs. Any ideas / resources for dry labs? Many thanks.

ParticipantApologies!
I’ll be teaching AP Biology. SUPER lab facilities. Essentially unlimited space and eqipment. Hope to get into the lab as much as possible, but time is a real limiter.
Thanks,
Chris

ParticipantYou should be able to order supplies from AP or Collegeboard. I know the main supplier is “Wards”.

ParticipantI still get no point on what exactly AP Biology is (shame on me 😳 :D). I know the abbreviation but I do not know the background, the aim, etc. Well it is because the education system is different between my country and overseas. This poor little teacher want to know 😆
One more, what is the meaning of ‘dry lab’? 🙄

ParticipantAP is Advanced Placement.
High Schools world wide offer this program where the curriculum is the same in every class room. In May, the same test is given to every student who took the class (unless you opt not to). Then you are ranked 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Many colleges give credit for scores 3-5 (My college gave me credit for BIOLOGY 110 for my score of 5). Many of the better colleges require 3 AP test scores for 3 different subjects too. http://www.collegeboard.com/ap .
Its equivelant to a first-year Biology course, but taught in a high school classroom by a high school teacher,

Participantyeah, it’s a really great thing. We have it in my country too, only it’s called “Studying at home from college books since the politicians are so stupid and greedy that they only want to steal money, not invest it into the brillian minds of tomorrow”. It’s the same thing, only with a different name 😉 😉 😈 😈
