Anybody knows what an Oncogenic virus is? What it does? how it works? All i found out is that they cause cancer, but i don’t quite know how, do you? Detail, please.

they are viruses that insert their DNA into random places inside the genome of the host. if the virus inserts itself into the promoter of a tumor suppressor, you end up making less of the tumor suppressor => you’re in trouble

Oh…and what is a tumor suppressor exactly, an enzyme, something that repairs DNA?

There should be quite a lot of website discussing the effects of HPV considering the furore caused by some vaccination programs. But be careful, not everything is reliable…
