I have learnt that pepsin digests proteins to polypeptides, and I have also learnt that enzymes which are biological catalysts are made of protein. So, my question is, wouldn’t pepsin digest itself since it is made of protein?

Similarly I can ask u If our stomach get digested by its own digestive juice . answer is of course not.
An enzyme has a certain conformation which targets a specific type of protein and so it can’ digest itself which is not the right confromation and it is not also energitically favourable.

      Oh, what about our hormones?
My biology teacher told our class that trypsin from the pancreas is able to digest insulin when both of them are put together.

That question was asked previously. (By me 😆 )
And the answer is,proteases DO digest themself. That’s why you continuously produce it.
