Does anybody knows about Human pheramones?
- January 22, 2006 at 2:22 pm #38129MrMisteryParticipant
Yeah, most of them are inactive. Only a few are still "functioning" from what i know. other than that, nothing

I read an article a while back saying that if we could activate certain mixtures of pheromones we could have the ultimate "sex perfume". Any fans of Poison Ivy (from Batman) out there?

Inactive…thanks i didn’t know that!!!
Which is the step/s in the action of pheromone that is not being carried out? production, secretion , reception, stimulation of the recepting body—–etc which one??? is it common for all inactive pheromones…
If the pheromones are still being secreted at correct times but not ‘felt’ by us we can still know about the mood of the individual by chemical testing… may be used in forensics…court cases [ divorse cases 😉 ]Shrei

from what i know the receptors are inactive(i think Kyle is my source)
About this, i saw on braniac on discovey: a woman smelled 3 men: one smelled like sweat, the other like parfume and the other had applied a special pheromone spray from the local sex-shop. She rated that the one with parfume smelled better, the one with sweat second and the on with pheromone spray the worst - January 24, 2006 at 2:02 am #382602810712Participant
What a dirty thought 😆
The pheromone is being supplied so we can just analyse the steps after its supply, the steps before might also be blocked. [My scale for pheromone rating by females: +ve is good & -ve is bad] The reaction to the pheromone should be zero or above zero , even if the women is saying it is worst , it doesn’t mean that its effect is negative.In human population at some point of time the relative importance of pheromones would have been less enough to make it a secondary then tertiary level of selection criterion, the major criteria now are – money, Intelligence, looks etc. {money-perfume, no money-no perfume 8) }
Females having uptodate criterions were selected.
As pheromones became useless the individuals spending energy on it
would have no advantage and will eventually vanish if natural selection operates. This will depend upon the relative populations of Males and females and chances of their encounter.
But males might have more active receptors as they neednot always select a powerful… but mostly they do select one from best available family [ economically, culturally].By the way what is the economical status of that pheromone company now??? 😆

The first pheromone discovered in mammal, and of course human, is "androstenone". It was discovered in male pig. This pheromone is believed as a "thing" to attrack females 8)
Nowadays, some perfume factories use synthetic androstenone for their fragrance product dedicated to males 😉
Well, individual pheromone is much more important, and can attract your partner much better rather than the artificial one. For instance, two men use the similar perfume, but they smell different because of the mixture between their perfume and natural smell. However, this artificial thing becomes important if the natural smell smells bad indeed 🙂

Yeah,
but-
The person using this perfume migth suffer from following-
1. Just imagine… there are many pigs arround him… 😆
2. And if his mate comes to know that this is a female pig attractant…
she might think what he actually wanted to show… 😆Shrei

I have heard about an experiment about this-
1) Some scientists ( of course they should be scientists) selected a 1000 of males. Some were using deodrants , scents etc. & other were not using.
2) The females were given their T- shirts to smell & they were advised to imagine about the male ( not man! )
3) Results were amasing ❗RESULT-
1) Most of the females have chosen those guys who don’t use artificial fragarances ❗
2) Also there were T-shirts of some females 😛 but females ( here woman!) chose their males correctly ( Of course there was some deviation but it was negligible 🙄 )So, WHAT U LEARN FROM THIS-
GIVE UR SWEATY T-SHIRT TO UR GIRL-FRIEND ( If u have 👿 )
AND SEE THE RESULTS 8) - February 2, 2006 at 1:58 am #39270JacobKParticipant
I’ve been interested in pheromones for a while and recently went to a lecture given by Dr. Ivanka Savic, who has been doing some great research in the field.
Here’s a link to her article Brain response to putative pheromones in homosexual men.
What the article shows, besides the very interesting finding about homosexual male response to male pheromones, is that men and women DO respond to pheromones, as shown in the brain scans. The sexual areas of the brain are stimulated by pheromones of the opposite sex in heterosexuals.
In her lecture she explained that the vomeronasal organ, which is where pheromone receptors are located in most other mammals, does not have nerve linkages in humans, and that this fact has lead some researchers to humans can’t respond to pheromones.
To disprove that, she quoted two studies which were done: one on people with complete blockage of their olfactory centers, the other on people whose vomeronasal organs were filled with a gel substance. What was found was that in the people with blocked olfactory centers there was no pheromone response, but in the people with blocked vomeronasal organs there was a response.
This indicates that the pheromone receptors in humans have moved to the olfactory centers. RNA coding for the pheromone receptor molecules has also been isolated from human olfactory cells, indicating that these receptors are being produced there.
If you want to experiment with pheromones, I’ve been using some from Pherone pheromones for over a year and they actually seem to work. The effect can be subtle, but in my own (nonscientific) testing on myself and people I meet, it does seem very noticable. The ones I’ve experimented with are V-5, M-11 and D-17X. The M-11 seems to be most generally useful (for me at least).

I have heard today itself about Aldosteranol which is present in Human males. There r 2 kinds Aldosteranol / aldosteranone.
Aldosteranol gives that nasty odour 😡 which women like 😛
So if we consider the case related to strength the inference we got is FOR EVERY FEMALE TO FERTILIZE HER EGG A MALE IS REQUIRED (Obviousaly)
SO 1 WILL FERTILIZE & OTHER WEAK MALE WILL TAKE CARE OF FAMILY AS STRONG ONE WILL GO TO ANOTHER FENALE WHO IS ON HEAT!
SO FAMILY WILL NEED WEAK MALE AS A CARE TAKER!

Were you ever one of those guys that was never liked by girls util you were like 16? I was, and a bio teacher put me on the spot and said this ocurrs because males produce pheromones after puberty.
Does anyone think this is true?

Pheromone is NOT hormone 👿
Pheromone is NOT only for sex attraction. The one for that purpose is called "aphrodisin", a sex pheromone secreted by female 8) - February 21, 2006 at 10:44 am #41469Dr.SteinParticipantquote Dudecar101:Were you ever one of those guys that was never liked by girls util you were like 16? The attraction to opposite sex is the sign of maturity of reproductive organs. Both sexes produce pheromones, and the mechanism of the attraction is like hormone:receptor, receptor:ligand, or lock+key 8)
